Ingredients
 
 

  • 180 g flour plain or wholemeal or mix 90 g of both
  • 85 g butter low-fat or margarine spread
  • a little water
  • 1 packet shortcrust pastry frozen, optional

Instructions
 

  • Sieve the flour into a bowl.
  • Rub in the chopped low-fat spread until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Add the water and mix to a stiff dough.
  • Roll out the pastry and line a flan dish.

Notes

Quiche Lorraine filling includes 4 rashers of lean bacon, 200 ml low-fat milk, 50 g low-fat grated cheese, and 2 eggs. Grill bacon, mix ingredients, and bake for 40-45 minutes at 200°C / 400°F / Gas Mark 6.
