
Quiche
A versatile and delicious quiche recipe, perfect for a family meal served with a tossed green salad.
Equipment
- Flan dish
- Sieve
- Mixing bowl
- Whisk
- Grater
- Chopping board
- Chopping knife
- Rolling Pin
- Measuring cup
Ingredients
- 180 g flour plain or wholemeal or mix 90 g of both
- 85 g butter low-fat or margarine spread
- a little water
- 1 packet shortcrust pastry frozen, optional
Instructions
- Sieve the flour into a bowl.
- Rub in the chopped low-fat spread until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Add the water and mix to a stiff dough.
- Roll out the pastry and line a flan dish.
Notes
Quiche Lorraine filling includes 4 rashers of lean bacon, 200 ml low-fat milk, 50 g low-fat grated cheese, and 2 eggs. Grill bacon, mix ingredients, and bake for 40-45 minutes at 200°C / 400°F / Gas Mark 6.
