
Meatballs
Delicious homemade meatballs served with pasta for a comforting family meal.
Equipment
- Chopping board
- Chopping knife
- Frying pan
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden spoon
- Stove
Ingredients
- 450 g minced lamb lean, or beef
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 20 g tomato puree
- 400 g tin chopped tomatoes
- pinch black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the minced meat in a large bowl.
- Fry the onion and garlic until golden brown.
- Add a little water and tomato puree to the pan.
- Cook for a few minutes.
- Add this mixture to the minced meat and mix well.
- Shape into meatballs with damp hands.
- Place the meatballs back in the pan over a medium heat and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally until brown on all sides.
- Drain any excess fat from the pan or gently pat meatballs with kitchen paper to remove any excess fat.
- Add the tin of chopped tomatoes to the frying pan and season with pepper.
- Cook the meatballs gently in the frying pan for 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
Notes
Serve with pasta for a hearty meal.
