Ingredients
  

  • 6 field cucumbers
  • 1 onion
  • 1–2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g bacon diced
  • dill fresh or dried
  • 100 g crème fraîche

Instructions
 

  • Dice the onions.
  • Peel 6 field cucumbers, quarter them, remove the seeds, and cut into small cubes.
  • Sauté the onions in oil.
  • Add diced bacon and fry briefly.
  • Add the cucumbers, season with 1 teaspoon of salt, and add chopped dill.
  • Cover with a lid and braise over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in 100 g of crème fraîche.
  • Serve warm, ideally with boiled potatoes or similar side dishes.

Notes

Serve with ground meat or potatoes to make it a wholesome dish.
