
Beef Tacos
Flavorful beef tacos made with spiced ground beef, crunchy shells, fresh veggies, cheese, and creamy toppings – a quick and satisfying Mexican-inspired meal.
Equipment
- Chopping board
- Chopping knife
- Frying pan
- Wooden spoon
- Grater optional
Ingredients
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 340 g minced beef lean
- 1 onion medium-sized, inely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 2 tbsp chilli powder medium
- 0.5 tsp cumin
- 65 g Mexican salsa
- lime Juice from ½ a lime
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 8 taco shells
For the toppings
- 30 g iceberg lettuce chopped
- 1 tomato vine-ripened, finely chopped
- 4 dstsp natural yoghurt low-fat
- 30 g Cheddar cheese low-fat, grated
- 0.5 avocado riped, sliced
- 1 onion small, finely chopped
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a frying pan.
- Add the mince and brown, then add the onion and garlic. Continue cooking for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chilli, cumin, salsa, lime, salt and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Heat the taco shells according to the instructions on the packet.
- Place a small amount of lettuce in the base of the shell and spoon the mince onto it.
- Add any or all of the toppings according to taste.
