
Baked Potatoes
A classic and versatile baked potato recipe, perfect as a side or main with various fillings.
Equipment
- Baking tray
- Chopping board
- Chopping knife
- Mixing bowl
- Wooden spoon
- Saucepan
- Oven
Ingredients
- 2 large potatoes scrubbed but not peeled
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C / 425°F / Gas Mark 7.
- Wash the potatoes if desired.
- Prick the potatoes all over with a fork.
- Place on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for 1½ hours or until the inside is tender.
- For the microwave method, follow the instructions given in the manual.
Notes
Great with beans and low-fat grated cheese. Alternatively, you could parboil the potatoes for about 20 minutes, then prick them, cover them with oil and bake for 15 minutes in a conventional oven at 180°C or 350°F / Gas Mark 4.
